Dawson & Lazo are at Blade Studios in Shreveport, LA working along with Grammy nominee engineer Chris Bell. This amazing new studio is the place Mike Dawson & Lisa Lazo chose to mix their full length CD “Dawson & Lazo.” Shreveport has long been considered the “Hollywood of the South” and now has a world class recording studio, thanks to Chris Bell, Brady Blade, Scott Crompton, and the rest of the Blade Studio crew and the state of Louisiana. Dawson says, “I aM very honored to be the studio’s very first client and look forward to a long relationship with Blade Studios.”

New Single “Rio San Juan-Club Mix” at Itunes and CD Baby

Rio San Juan is a Latin/rock tune written by Mitch Paliga and Still Flame bandleader Mike Dawson. The “Club Mix” is a cool electronica remix and is now available at Itunes, CD Baby, and many other digital stores. Lead vocals are by New Rage vocalist diva Angie Mack.

The New Rage band is Rick Read (bass), Mike Davison (guitars), Jeff Sorenson (drums), Greg Dugan (percussion), and Mike Dawson (keyboards). New Rage horns on this recording are Mitch Paliga (saxophone), Lee Schloss (saxophone), Larry Spencer (trumpet), Steve Howard (trumpet), and Kim Corbet (trombone). Recording and mixed by Tye Robison at Dallas’ January Sound. Enjoy the music!

A few months ago I cut a demo in GarageBand that I titled “Transcape.” I used an arpeggiator patch with an Alesis and created some Roland analog patches. Then I started to improvise some Les Paul melodies. I will be transforming the tune as lyrics become more clear to me. But I thought it would be fun to let everyone hear a demo.

I have been writing music all summer and close to starting recording the debut Still Flame CD. I am very excited about all the guest performers that will be a part of the music making. Dawson and Lazo Release New EP “THE HIVE SESSIONS”

We are so happy to announce the release of our first CD produced together! Recorded in Hollywood at the The Hive (artistic home of the legendary rock band 311). Joining us in the studio was guitarist Kay-ta Matsuno, bassist Ben White, drummer Jeff Sorenson, and percussionist Greg Dugan. Behind the mixing board was Texas engineer/producer Chris Bell. (His recording credits include The Eagles, Erykah Badu, Peter Gabriel, U2).

Our debut EP gives you just a taste of the songs you will here on our full length CD to be released in 2010.
